Why Red Odyssey Is The Best Audio Drama Ever!
Ok, maybe I’m a little biased, or A LOT biased, but I want it noted for the record that Red Odyssey from Denouncer Media is the best audio drama podcast that has ever existed! And hey, you read it on the internet so it must be true.
Red Odyssey is an audio drama that recently started streaming episodes on all the usual platforms. It’s an epic tale of friendship, love, eldritch horrors and nuclear explosions. The story revolves around a cosmonaut, Ilia, who hangs around a cosmodrome on Earth and likes poetry, and Fantom IX, an absolutely amazing and totally spectacular lunar rover sent to explore the moon. She’s a total babe (she’s a 10 buuuut she’s made of metal). And after the first episode, if you think you know where the story is going… No you don’t.
No, seriously, you don’t.
And that’s what makes it so. Damn. Good.
It is a roller-coaster of madness and just when you start thinking this is a cozy little tale that warms the heart and brings a tear to your eye, you realize your heart has actually been pulled out of your chest and lit on fire and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to put out the flames of your heart with the stream of tears coursing down your face. But it will be to no avail! For just when you think you’ve managed to salvage the charred remains of your seared heart, a dark and menacing presence comes along and before you can act it also rips out a few more body parts, perhaps your spleen and I guess the appendix is optional because the appendix always is, but then it socks you in the gut just for good measure and as you are doubled over in pain with your lungs burning from the noxious miasma that the creature brought with it, you manage to glimpse it tossing your organs in a rubbish bin on top of a very smelly pile of mealy old French fries that have been doused in vinegar and maybe even mayonnaise too. You limp over to the bin to fish out your inside bits that are now outside bits but all you pull out is handfuls of soft, wet, slimy lumps of potato. You try putting that in your chest where your heart once beat, but it will never be the same. It can’t be. It’s just potatoes.
Potatoes and vinegar.
I hate vinegar.
In conclusion, you should listen to Red Odyssey because… Hmmmm, well, shoot, I kind of backed myself into a corner there didn’t I?
Scratch all what I just wrote - Red Odyssey is super good and a fun time for all and you should totally listen!
